The French Resistance has sent you a message: "Did yourMP3s arrive safely ?"

The French Resistance has sent you a message...: "Did yourMP3s arrive safely ?"I wrote earlier to say that: “I buried the corpse of my poor dead laptop, as well as the German keyboard who killed it. And I bought a beautiful new French Resistance laptop with a French keyboard!! :-) " ... the only problem is the French keyboard is “laid-out” as oddly as the French people are “laid-back”... so I kept hitting “Send” (“Envoyez”) by accident. Excusez-Moi !!a)      I need to wait for Lee Crase to…Continue

Scheiße !! It's the novelist's nightmare: the keyboard on my laptop broke almost 24 hours ago... it is a keyboard in English, as the novel I am writing is in English...  And since I live in Paris, I cannot find a keyboard English very easily.  So, in despair, I first bought an external keyboard French (a language I know fluently); but since French keyboards have the letters all in the wrong order.  But this proved clumsy to write on, so I then bought a keyboard in German (a language I do not…Continue

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. I'm a little more than half way through at the moment, but I'm really getting a kick out of this author. He's managed to write in the perfect teenage, irreverent attitude. I mean, it must be pretty hard being the son of a God, but one of the big 3? That makes it even harder. As the son of Poseidon, with all the other Gods jealous of his very existence, and therefore actively hunting him, he needs to find a godly artifact before Zeus and Poseidon tear the…Continue

Q1 : Who am I ?
I created this website: CulturalBook.com to improve on the intellectual and cultural quality of social media on the web. I am a novelist (published by "ModeRoom Press," next book to be published by "Aesthete Press") who writes mostly in English, sometimes in French. I've lived in Paris for about 10 years... time goes by quick !
Q2 : What have I done ?
* Traveled around in my first-youth with a guitar. Wrote some poetry. Lived in New Orleans, then Boston, Mexico, Manhattan,

* Age 22 : moved to Rennes, France. Then to Paris

* Age 24 : Traveled extensively around Europe.

* Age 25 : Moved to Los Angeles, then New York City

* Age 26 : Moved to Hawaii

* Age 27 : Moved to Paris

* Age 35 : Traveled to Washington State, USA to visit my family
Q3 : What am I going to do ?
Try to improve CulturalBook.com and make members happy ! Also, I have about 200 novels either in my head or written down as notes. The great aim is to live long enough to write and finish at least half of them, while hoping with all my heart that new ideas for novels don't add themselves to the list.
Who are my favorite authors? What are my favorite books ? What is my favorite epoch or setting in literature?
Homer (The Odyssey is my favorite book). "The Idiot," "Manon Lescaut," "Carmen," Paul et Virginie," are among my favorite novels. I love French literature of the 18th and 19th Centuries, Russian novels, European literature. History. Mythology. Erudition.

Hi Roman.  After thinking about your responses to my personal; decision to cut or not to cut my hair, I sent 18 inches to Locks of Love. The act released me into a freedom: wash, shake, dry, and now my only decision is hat or no hat!  Love this life.  Writing a series of short stories for my twin granddaughters about our adventures in their short ten years. Words are thrilling when strung together with perspective in imagination of memory. G

Here I am because of an e-mail from Roman Payne inviting input. My big ambition now is a puff of about 20,000 words to get people to read and enjoy Piers Plowman. Not scholar stuff - more "Hey, look at this marvellous text." Writing all done after working through four translations. Advice sought on illustrations. Small or large? Many or few? Modern or Mediaeval? And on finding readers. All responses welcome.
